Camera in its bag and thermos of hot coffee tucked alongside me, we made a middle-of-the-night drive to Portland Head to photograph the sun rising from the horizon beyond the 105 year-old Ram Island Ledge Lighthouse. The seventy-foot tall beacon is currently owned by Dr. Jeffrey Florman, who has neither boat nor use fo the structure, but simply wants to preserve it for history. Was that the actual color? I suppose the answer to that question is to be found in your own middle-of-the-night excursion.
